Keep Your Distance: Recreation Impact Monitoring during COVID

May 16, 2020

- Free

Although we can’t host a traditional volunteer event this year, you can still give back to Colorado’s public lands using the CMC RIMS Mobile App. www.cmc.org/app

Join us virtually from your favorite local trailhead to monitor visitor use through the app!
A parking lot count or user observation takes less than 30 seconds and this data will help land managers understand visitation to parks, trailheads, climbing crags and more. This info is particularly important to understand recreation trends during the pandemic.

DOWNLOAD the app by searching CMC RIMS in the Google Play or Apple App Store

COLLECT DATA – we are focusing on VISITOR USE ASSESSMENTS to understand where and how people are recreating during the pandemic. Will you make a commitment to count users while you’re our recreating?!

WIN PRIZES – the user who collects the most data on Colorado Public Lands Day will win a CMC swag pack and we’ll be doing weekly prizes for our top assessors through the end of May. All new users in May will also be entered to win!

For more in-depth preparation, WATCH THE TRAINING VIDEO (just 20 min!) and take the volunteer quiz for full access to trail and campsite monitoring features. www.cmc.org/app
